Titanic 100 year anniversary

(Sorry this is a few days late)
In honor of all who lost their lives on Titanic 100 years ago, we take a minute to think of all improvements in safety requirements since then. The most important is the requirement for there to be enough life boats for ever soul on board, regardless of appearances on the deck or usable space being occupied.

Following the Concordia accident, there have been so many steps taken to ensure the crew is better trained and the Muster drill is performed sooner.

Cruising is still the safest mode of travel but these stories can be very sombering.

Is cruising safe? (In honor of Costa Concordia and 100 year anniversary of the Titanic)

Cruising is the safest mode of travel on the planet. Between 15 and 16 million people cruised in 2011 alone. That is alot of cruisers that have had a completely safe cruising experience.

When is the last time anyone heard of a ship sinking prior to the Concordia? Titanic? That's 100 years. Think about how frequently there are plane crashes. Or better yet, automobile accidents.

The Concordia sinking is a horrible tragedy, as was the Titanic. Any time there is a loss of life, its a terrible thing. But in no way shape or form will this keep me from cruising. Maybe will just take the muster drill a little more seriously.
